Yakult is a Japanese product? It has been in Japan since I was a child and arrived to the UK recently. In Japanese it is 'Yakuruto' yakult. There are ladies who visit your houses or offices with Yakult bottles to sell. We call themyakult_no_obasan (Yakult middle aged ladies). See this page for further in formation (English).
Japanese emoticons/face marks do not have to be turned 90 degrees to understand. They are laid horizontally, like this:

  (^_^) Smiling

  (^o^) Happy

  (-_-) Not very happy

There are hundreds of variation of these. Emoticons / face marks are called Kaomoji yakult, 'kao' means face, 'moji' means letters.
